Stop Chasing Shiny Tech... Why I’m Building My Empire on Google
In a world where a new app pops up daily, grounding your business in a proven ecosystem is the ultimate power move in this AI era.
I have a confession to make... and it might save your business thousands in overhead this year…
Okay… let’s get into it.
👀 I’m a Google-woman
I’m not talking about being “new to this” or chasing a trend... I’m “true to this.”
Here are just a few of the products I’ve enjoyed:
- from Google Pixel phones 📱 to Pixel buds 🎧
- Pixelbook Go 💻 to the Pixel Watch ⌚️
- To watching the evolution of G-Suite into Google Workspace and Bard into Gemini ✦
While the rest of the market is suffering from SaaS fatigue (paying for a dozen different $30/month subscriptions that don’t talk to each other), I’ve been grounding my empire in a single, proven ecosystem.
From the hardware in my hand to the evolution of Gemini 3.1 Pro... I’ve seen the “shiny new things” come and go. I’ve tested the waters and got distracted by the hype, just like everyone else... but I always come back to the foundation.
Stability is a Competitive Edge
We are living through a “permanent rewiring” of work…
[which many people have and continue to lose their only source of income. This is why I keep harping on the necessity for building additional income.]
AI is moving from rapid progress to systemic impact. And in this environment, being “invisible” is the new “risky”. If you spend the majority of your days troubleshooting integrations between a dozen different beta apps, that means you’re managing a very expensive, fragile hobby 😕.
Jumping from app to app is a massive drain on your time, energy, and momentum. For a solopreneur, this can create a dependency on a 9-to-5 to pay for the tools, and for a small business owner, create clunky operations that make you slow and/or desperate.
Implementing a Business OS (operating system) is about efficiency and stability… not having the most tools or even the most popular tools. It’s about doing what makes sense and what’s best for you, especially in this volatile environment we’re all in.
The Power Stack
See… you don’t need a complex web of disconnected software. I save hundreds of dollars a month by stripping down to what I consider my “Big 3”:
Google Workspace Business Standard (~$14/mo): my home base for operations, websites, and file security. (remember this comes with Gemini, plus a whole host of other google AI tools)
Perplexity Pro ($20/mo): my high-level strategic research assistant.
LinkedIn (Free): my engine for organic visibility and positioning.
And of course you could upgrade, but this foundation can get you where you need to be and go.
This stack is the perfect way to build out your business ecosystem — it offers stability while still giving you access to top-tier innovation.
Your Pivot Moves
So if you’re tired of app-hopping, want to streamline your business operations, and get your time back, here are your implementation steps:
⓵ Consolidate the Chaos (do an audit 📋)
I want you to take a hard look at your bank statement… If you’re paying for Zoom, a scheduler like Calendly, and a separate CRM, you are throwing money away. You can build a native CRM in Google Sheets, schedule client sessions directly through Google’s Calendar Appointment Pages, and host a client portal on Google Sites. Simplify your stack so you can focus on the revenue.
⓶ Utilize Your AI Assistant
Stop treating AI like a novelty you have to visit in a separate tab. If you have Workspace, Gemini is already living in your Docs, Sheets, Gmail, and even Chrome tabs. Let it summarize those 50-email threads while you’re on mobile or generate your action items during a meeting. [side note: if your thought is “that’s light work” and you need your assistant to do way more than that, Google still has what you need; check out Vertex AI .]
The ultimate goal is to make AI an operational layer that runs in the background of your life, without having to micromanage it.
⓷ Protect Your Intellectual Insurance
When you rely on rented software tools, you lose control. If a platform goes down, you lose your audience. You could instead use Google Takeout to schedule automatic backups of your entire business. And use Google Vault as your "ultimate undo button" to preserve every contract, invoice, or critical piece of info you don’t want to lose. Because if you don’t own your data… do you really own your business?
Asset Mindset 🧠
True agency (that can survive AI disruption) will come from focus.
Grounding yourself in a reliable, continuously updating ecosystem allows you to stop worrying about “the tech” and start focusing on your 3 Foundations: your positioning, your delivery, and your leads.
Don’t build your house on shifting sand... build it on solid rock instead 🪨
Stay strategic,

P.S. Reading about an Integrated Business OS is one thing; setting it up is another. If you know you’re ready to streamline your operations, lower your overhead, and design an ecosystem that makes sense, my digital door is open.
Are you ready to build your empire?!

I’m intrigued — saved this one for reading when I have time to focus!
